Medical Post - Orthopedic Specialist

The first real post will actually be a guest post by Tara. She took Grandma to see an Orthopedic specialist to see about her hip - which has been giving he trouble since the accident.

Here's Tara's account of what happened:

"The doctor said grandma either has a problem with the tendon on her hip or the bursa, and that she did not fracture her hip which he said was a good thing.  He did say that he expected it to take another 6 weeks for the hip to fully heal, and that during those 6 weeks the hip would still bother her.  However, after the last week or so it shouldn't be a problem anymore.  If the problem doesn't go away after 6 weeks then grandma may have torn the tendon off her hip and that would require surgery.  Grandma needs to make sure that she keeps an eye on that hip, and if it isn't getting better she will need to go back to the doctor.  Before we left, the doctor gave her a shot that was supposed to give her some short term relief, you'll have to ask grandma if it worked or not.  That was the appointment.

Tara"
