Family Doctor - May 22, 2013:
In response to everyplace we've been asking "Who is your primary care provider," Grandma thought is was high time she got one. At the recommendation of Reba Pope - her sister-in-law - she went to visit Dr. Marie Shelton in Orem.
This first appointment was a simple one. An assistant got all of Grandma's vitals, then the Doctor came in and talked with us about Grandma's medical history. My favorite quote was this: "You're healthier then some of my 20-year-olds!"
Dr. Shelton agreed with the blood pressure medication, and also gave Grandma some samples of a pain-reliever that was less harsh on the stomach then the Ibuprofen she'd been using.
She also had a bone density test done, and we'll be getting the results of those at some point. There's another appoint scheduled next Thursday, so we'll know by then at the latest.
After we had left, Grandma said that she was very impress by Dr. Shelton, and was happy to keep her as her primary care.
